Dive Technician (Electrical) Eligibility (GA 2026)

You have now been enrolled onto the following area at either your, or your company's request:
Please note:
- You have six months to complete the eligibility process from the date of purchase. The Grade Assessment then needs to be completed within the following twelve months of successfully completing the eligibility process.
- Course and Competence documentation:
- Can be downloaded (and saved to a laptop or mobile device) when internet access is available.
- It can then be completed and saved, even when offline.
- The completed documents can then be uploaded to your submission areas when internet access is next available.
A Dive Technician (Electrical) is regarded as someone who is conversant with the electrical systems of diving equipment associated with subsea marine operations.
They can participate in the Dive Technical Team during operations and will report directly to the Dive Technician Supervisor when offshore.
The Dive Technician (Electrical) is expected to take part in the competence assessment process.
- Prior detailed knowledge, skills and experience of electrical/electronic engineering gained through one of the following:
- Trade qualification or Advanced academic education or Military training/qualification or Extensive experience in previous employment
- Current and valid survival certificate
- Current and valid medical certificate
- Complete employing company familiarisation course

A Dive Technician Supervisor is regarded as someone who is fully conversant with the technical system requirements of diving equipment associated with subsea marine operations.
They can supervise and lead the Dive Technical Team during operations and will report directly to the Offshore Project Manager/Dive Superintendent when offshore.
The Dive Technician Supervisor is expected to take part in the competence assessment process. As well as assess and coach/mentor, Dive Technicians and senior technicians.
- Prior knowledge, skills and experience of mechanical/hydraulic engineering gained through either: Trade qualification or Advanced academic education or Military training/qualification or Extensive experience in previous employment
- Completion of Senior Dive Technician competences either electrical or mechanical
- Current and valid survival certificate
- Current and valid medical certificate
- Complete employing company familiarisation course

The Senior Dive Technician (Electrical) is expected to take part in the competence assessment process and coach/mentor Dive Technicians.
- Prior knowledge, skills and experience of electrical/electronic engineering gained through either: Trade qualification or Advanced academic education or Military training/qualification or Extensive experience in previous employment
- Demonstrated competence including 300 logged days working as a Dive Technician (electrical) and completion of Dive Technician (electrical) competences
- Current and valid survival certificate
- Current and valid medical certificate
- Complete employing company familiarisation course
