Assistant Life Support Technician Eligibility (GA 2026)

Please note:
- You have six months to complete the eligibility process from the date of purchase. The Grade Assessment then needs to be completed within the following twelve months of successfully completing the eligibility process.
- Course and Competence documentation:
- Can be downloaded (and saved to a laptop or mobile device) when internet access is available.
- It can then be completed and saved, even when offline.
- The completed documents can then be uploaded to your submission areas when internet access is next available.
An Assistant Life Support Technician is regarded as someone who is conversant in life support activities associated with subsea marine operations.
They can successfully participate in the life support team during operations and will report directly to the Life Support Supervisor when offshore.
The Assistant Life Support Technician is expected to take part in the competence assessment process.
- Valid IMCA/HSE saturation diving qualification or
- Complete an IMCA approved ALST training course
- Current and valid survival certificate
- Current and valid medical certificate
- Complete employing company familiarisation course
Life Support Supervisor Eligibility (GA 2026)

- You have six months to complete the eligibility process from the date of purchase. The Grade Assessment then needs to be completed within the following twelve months of successfully completing the eligibility process.
- Course and Competence documentation:

- It can then be completed and saved, even when offline.

A Life Support Supervisor is regarded as someone who is fully conversant in all life support activities associated with the subsea marine operations.
They can successfully supervise the life support team during operations and will report directly to the Diving Superintendent/Offshore Project Manager when offshore.
The Life Support Supervisor is expected to coach and assess members of the life support team and act as a witness during the competence assessment process.
- Completed a minimum of 2400 logged hours as a LST after passing exam and
- Min 4 years experience in the diving industry
- Sit and pass IMCA LST examination
- Current and valid survival certificate
- Current and valid medical certificate
- Demonstrated competence as a Life Support Technician
- Has received training in aspects of leadership
- Complete employing company familiarisation course

A Life Support Technician is regarded as someone who is fully conversant with life support activities associated with subsea marine operations.
They can fully participate in the life support team during operations and will report directly to the Life Support Supervisor when offshore.
The Life Support Technician is expected to take part in the competence assessment process and mentor/coach assistant life support technicians.
- Completed a minimum of 2400 logged hours as a trainee ALST and has demonstrated competence as an LST or
- Completed 360 hours as an ALST and possess an IMCA recognised Saturation diving qualification with 5 years (3 must be saturation) diving experience
- Sit and pass IMCA LST examination
- Current and valid survival certificate
- Current and valid medical certificate
- Complete employing company familiarisation course
