Grade I Data Processor (GA 2026)

You have now been enrolled onto the following area at either your, or your company's request:
Please note:
- This verification course has to be completed within 12 months of your enrolment date.
- Course and Competence documentation:
- Can be downloaded (and saved to a laptop or mobile device) when internet access is available.
- It can then be completed and saved, even when offline.
- The completed documents can then be uploaded to your submission areas when internet access is next available.
In addition to being enrolled on this course you will also have been enrolled on the relevant 'Core Competency course'.
- Core competencies focus on essential activities that are applicable to all disciplines within the field of survey. The evidence you gather to complete the core competencies can therefore be used across all disciplines within this grade level.
- If these have already been completed, then no further action is required regarding the Core Competencies.
A Grade I Data Processor is regarded as someone who is conversant with data processing aspects of marine survey operations.
They can successfully participate in the Survey Team during operations and will report directly to the Senior Data Processor.
The Grade I Data Processor is expected to coach and assess junior members of the Survey Project Team in line with the Competence Management Programme.
- Satisfactory completion of the competence criteria for Data Processor Grade II and be working towards Data Processor Grade I
- Nominally 12 months including 80 days operational experience as a Data Processor Grade II OR Relevant Industrial, military or academic experience in Survey discipline
- Valid and current offshore medical certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed
- Valid and current offshore survival certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed

A Grade II Data Processor is regarded as someone who works within the Survey Team during marine survey operations.
They can successfully participate under supervision, in the Survey Project Team during operations and will report directly to the Senior Data Processor.
The Grade II Data Processor is expected to participate in the Competence Management Programme.
- Qualification in an appropriate engineering or IT related subject. Minimum level HNC/HND or appropriate technical/military experience and qualifications
- Good standard of IT literacy/Team player/Good communication skills
- Valid and current offshore medical certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed
- Valid and current offshore survival certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed
- If currently working as a Grade II Data Processor, and wishing to certify at this grade, then satisfactory completion of competence criteria for the grade is required
Senior Data Processor (GA 2026)

- It can then be completed and saved, even when offline.
- The completed documents can then be uploaded to your submission areas when internet access is next available.
In addition to being enrolled on this course you will also have been enrolled on the relevant 'Core Competency course'.
- Core competencies focus on essential activities that are applicable to all disciplines within the field of survey. The evidence you gather to complete the core competencies can therefore be used across all disciplines within this grade level.
- If these have already been completed, then no further action is required regarding the Core Competencies.
A Senior Data Processor is regarded as someone who is fully conversant in all data processing aspects of marine survey operations.
They can successfully manage the data processing team during operations and will report directly to the Party Chief.
The Senior Data Processor is expected to coach and assess members of the Survey Team in line with the Competence Management Programme.
- Satisfactory completion of the competence criteria for Data Processor Grade I and be working towards Senior Data Processor grade
- Nominally 24 months including 200 days operational experience as a Data Processor Grade I OR Relevant Industrial, military or academic experience
- Valid and current offshore medical certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed
- Valid and current offshore survival certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed
