Grade I Dimensional Control Surveyor (GA 2026)

In addition to being enrolled on this course you will also have been enrolled on the relevant 'Core Competency course'.
- Core competencies focus on essential activities that are applicable to all disciplines within the field of survey. The evidence you gather to complete the core competencies can therefore be used across all disciplines within this grade level.
- If these have already been completed, then no further action is required regarding the Core Competencies.
A Grade I Dimensional Control Surveyor is regarded as someone who is conversant with survey aspects of marine survey operations.
Used offshore mainly in the field of Steel Jacket installation, inspection and de-commissioning, dimensional control combines precise measurements and 3D mathematical modelling, enabling objects to be surveyed, analysed and compared with their original designs
They can successfully participate in the Survey Project Team during operations and will report directly to the Senior Surveyor.
The Grade I Dimensional Surveyor is expected to coach and assess junior members of the Survey Project Team in line with the Competence Management Programme.
- Satisfactory completion of the competence criteria for Dimensional Controller Grade II and be working towards GI Dimensional Controller grade
- Nominally 12 months including 80 days operational experience as a Surveyor/Dimensional Controller Grade II OR Relevant Industrial, military or academic experience in Survey discipline
- Valid and current offshore medical certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed
- Valid and current offshore survival certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed

They can successfully participate under supervision, in the Survey Project Team during operations and will report directly to the Senior Surveyor.
The Grade II Dimensional Control Surveyor is expected to participate in the Competence Management Programme.
- Qualification in an appropriate survey related subject. Minimum level HNC/HND or appropriate technical/military experience and qualifications.
- Good standard of IT literacy/Team player/Good communication skills
- Valid and current offshore medical certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed
- Valid and current offshore survival certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed
- If currently working as a Grade II Dimensional Controller, and wishing to certify at this grade, then satisfactory completion of competence criteria for the grade is required

Used offshore mainly in the field of Steel Jacket installation, inspection and de-commissioning, dimensional control combines precise measurements and 3D mathematical modelling, enabling objects to be surveyed, analysed and compared with their original designs
They can successfully manage the Survey Project Team during operations and will report directly to the Party Chief.
The Senior Dimensional Control Surveyor is expected to coach and assess members of the Survey Project Team in line with the Competence Management Programme.
- Nominally 24 months including 200 days operational experience as a Surveyor Grade I OR Relevant Industrial, military or academic experience OR Relevant Industrial, military or academic experience
- Valid and current offshore medical certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed
- Valid and current offshore survival certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed
