Offshore Project Manager (ICA 2026)

An Offshore Manager is regarded as someone who can manage the offshore team in order to achieve outcomes as required by the client and contracting company.
There is a significant range of disciplines within an Offshore team. For this reason, it is important that the Offshore Manager has a thorough understanding of the demands of ROV, Diving, Hydrographic Survey and Marine operations. Operational experience therefore forms an important part of the criteria for this grade.
The Offshore Manager must also be proficient in all aspects of management and this is therefore assessed within this grade as an ongoing competence.
The Offshore Manager is also expected to coach and assess colleagues in all aspects of sub-sea operations . Offshore Managers may apply for formal assessment qualifications which are awarded by the awarding body EAL. They are however assessed on their assessment skills within this grade in line with IMCA guidelines.
The Offshore Manager will have a strong background in either ROV, Diving, Survey or Marine disciplines. They will have significant experience in one of the above and held a senior role for at least 3 years. These roles may include ROV Superintendent, Dive Superintendent, Deck Foreman/Shift Superintendent
- Be in possession of a current and valid offshore medical certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed
- Be in possession of a current and valid offshore survival certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed
- Achieve 540 days offshore experience at a Senior Supervisor/Superintendent Grade
- Have a minimum of 8 years in the industry
Offshore Administrator (ICA 2026)

To co-ordinate equipment tracking, produce written information as required and assist the Offshore Project Manager in the day to day running of the Offshore Project Team.
- Current offshore topside UKOOA medical
- OPITO approved basic offshore survival induction and emergency training
- Computer skills including Excel, Word and Project
- Basic understanding of offshore/marine logistics and general administration procedures
- Desirable: formal HSE qualification
Offshore Project Engineer (ICA 2026)

A Project/Field Engineer is regarded as someone who is fully conversant in all technical activities associated with subsea marine operations.
They can successfully co-ordinate activities during operations and will report directly to the Offshore Project Manager when offshore.
The Project/Field Engineer is expected to coach and assess members of the Deck Team and act as a witness during the competence assessment process.
- Professional qualified engineer with 1 year offshore experience
- Completed competences as appropriate to Behavioural Factors/Emergency Response/Safety and Risk Awareness
- Current and valid survival certificate
- Current and valid medical certificate
Bridge Supervisor (ICA 2026)

A Bridge Supervisor is regarded as someone who can Liaise with the Marine, ROV, Diving and Deck Crew order to achieve outcomes as required by the client and contracting company.
The Bridge Supervisor must have significant experience in Subsea Construction Operations and have a proven track record in either ROV or Diving operations. It is for this reason that the operational experience forms an important part of the criteria for this grade.
The Bridge Supervisor must also be proficient in most aspects of management and this is therefore assessed within this grade as an ongoing competence.
The Bridge Supervisor is also expected to coach and assess colleagues in all aspects of sub-sea operations and maintenance. Bridge Supervisors may apply for formal assessment qualifications which are awarded by the awarding body EAL. They are however assessed on their assessment skills within this grade in line with IMCA requirements.
The five competencies within this grade are also found within the ROV supervisor competencies. These competencies are considered to be essential within all supervisory roles. They therefore form the on-going competencies that must be repeated by personnel who wish to remain in the most senior role for offshore personnel involved in sub-sea operations.
- Be in possession of a current and valid offshore medical certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed
- Be in possession of a current and valid offshore survival certificate that is acceptable in the region of the world in which they are employed
- Achieve 540 days offshore experience in an ROV/Diving Supervisor Grade
- Have a minimum of 72 months in the industry
Client Representative (ICA 2026)

The Client Representative acts as the client's eyes and ears during the offshore phase of a project. They are the prime method for monitoring what is going on at the site from both safety and efficiency points of view. They will be responsible for ensuring that the contractor executes the approved scope of work within the approved procedures.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- Must be fully conversant with:
- the task that is to be undertaken
- the methodology to be used
- the relevant rules, regulations and industry best practice
- Understanding of the operational interfaces required for the project
