Senior Pilot/Technician (Submersible Engineer)
Job Summary:
A Senior Pilot Technician is regarded as someone who can fault find on equipment but also plan and to some degree manage technical activities. In many cases the Senior Pilot Technician will be required to assist the supervisor on some managerial activities, for instance acting as a Night Shift Supervisor.
The Senior Pilot Technician is also expected to coach colleagues in all aspects of sub-sea operations and maintenance.
In practise there is some overlap between Senior Pilot Technician and Supervisor grades. It is not the intention of this programme to limit the technical activities undertaken by a Senior Pilot Technician when they are clearly capable of undertaking some of the responsibilities of the Supervisor grade, with the consent of the ROV Supervisor or assessor.
