Job Summary:
Competencies 1-5 for this grade are MANADATORY. You must also complete a minimum ofone units of competency 6 and 7.
E.g. Complete and submit competencies 1-5, 6 or 7 as your portfolio.
The areas that will be assessed within Master Grade include:
Entry Level Specifications:
- Valid certificate of competency (less than 200 GRT) issued in accordance with STCW Reg. II/2 or 3
- Has a valid logbook that is kept up to date with training, qualifications and experience
- Has a valid flag state medical certificate
- Has valid flag state survival craft and medical care training certificates i.a.w. STCW Reg. VI/I & 4
- Has valid certificates for personal survival techniques; fire-fighting & fire prevention; elementary first aid; and personal safety & social responsibility
- Demonstrates adequate knowledge and use of the English language i.a.w STCW Code Table A-II/I
- Demonstrates knowledge of emergency procedures, including formal training and assessment record of emergency drills/situations in accordance with STCW A-V1/3
